Stupid Name Anyways.

This week is my school's Homecoming. One thing I will never understand about high school is Homecoming. Why is it called that? Nobody actually comes home for it.      I don't mind the fact that it's one massive popularity contest. That doesn't affect me at all. What does affect me is the fact that my friends have decided that we all absolutely HAVE to go every year. I get dragged along after the football game into the cafeteria where I'm reminded just how ridiculous it was that I spent five dollars to get in.      I understand going, though. But it's just funny to think about it from the perspective of a junior. Freshmen go because it's their first year and they don't realize how sucky it is. Sophomores go because they want to impress the freshmen, even though they've only been there a year longer. Seniors go because it's their last time having to make an excuse to get hammered on a Friday night. Juniors? We really have no business bein...

59.4: The View from Under 5' Lynlee Gannaway Hi! I'm Lynlee, and this is my blog, 59.4: The View from Under 5'. I'm a high school junior in America who's just trying to get by. I write and vlog in my free time, and I thought starting a blog would be a fun idea to try out. I decided to do a blog for the rest of my high school years after my sophomore year went to hell in a hand basket. I wanted to bring some people along for the ride in case things got rocky again this year.  About me: I'm in band, and I play the trombone and bass trombone. I am roughly five feet tall, give or take an inch or so. I do photography and writing as hobbies. I'm editor of the school paper. I love rock music. I'm a devout follower of God, and quite proud of it.  That's all I can think of for now. Guess I'll check in again when I have more updates. In the meantime, much love, make good decisions, be safe!
